Located within New River Gorge National River park boundaries, Camp Brookside is approximately three miles north of Hinton, West Virginia, on Route 20.  Just seven miles south of I-64, the camp is easily accessible by highway or train.  Five colleges and universities, branch campuses of all major state universities, and ten public school districts are within a 50-mile radius of the camp. There are many options for outdoor recreation located in the area, including whitewater rafting, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, rock climbing, snow skiing, horseback riding, mountain biking, fishing, bird-watching, camping, etc. Medical, shopping, additional lodging, banking, and other services are nearby in Hinton and Beckley.  

Camp Brookside is also within an easy drive of a variety of cultural opportunities, including theater, music and other arts.

New River Gorge National Park

The National Park Service at  New River Gorge National River protects and preserves the rich and significant natural and cultural resources of Camp Brookside and Brooks Island.
