Prospective Programming
1. Enhancement of current NPS programs in schools: proposed programs would add field experiences to classroom activities now offered by Park staff.
2. Courses and activities for science teachers, and opportunities for college students to gain experience in teaching and scientific research.
3. Day programs and activities such as: wildflower walks and identification, birding, art in nature, canoeing basics, New River history and ecology, environmental education, etc.
4. Three- to five-day residential programs for grades 4-12 students. Programs will address environmental issues and be consistent be consistent with West Virginia Board of Education Standards of Learning.
5. Research activities centered on the river and riparian area, including issues related to water quality.
