History and Affiliation:

A four year public liberal arts university and part of the West Virginia Higher Education System, founded in 1872, soon after the Civil War.

Financial Aid:

The University offers more than $21 million a year in scholarships, grants, and other forms of financial aid. More than 90 percent of our freshmen receive some level of support.

Study Abroad:

Opportunities are available through a variety of scholarships, affiliated programs and individual faculty initiatives. Past excursions include Germany, England, Spain, Scotland, Turkey, France, Wales and Belize.    

Athletics:

We offer 15 Men’s and Women’s NCAA Division II athletic programs. Concord is a member of the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

1872, soon after West Virginia split away from Virginia during the Civil War.

Campus:

123-acre park-like campus in southern West Virginia (just off of I-77), and far away from the traffic, crime, and commotion of most urban areas.

Library:

Nearly 200,000 holdings, automated catalog, access to Infotrac, the Internet, and other databases. Students may also access the library 24 hours per day from other locations through the Internet.
