Driving Directions

Take Exit 14 off of I-77. If traveling from the north (Beckley), turn left at the end of the exit ramp. If traveling from the south (Princeton) turn right at the exit ramp. Follow this road for about 3 miles, and turn left at the intersection of Route 20. Follow Route 20 into Athens and turn right at the stoplight. Follow Vermillion Street 1/4 a mile.

The entrance will be on your left. You will see the Student Center (G) on the map below on your left.

GENERAL PARKING DIRECTIONS

Graduation will be in the Carter Center (building L on the map), main gymnasium.  Guests are asked to begin parking in lot 1, then 2 and 3.  Lot 4 is reserved for the mobility impaired or those who need special assistance (lot 4 will be marked with appropriate signage).  Drivers are asked to display handicap decals. Click here for directions for the mobility impaired.  Please use the main entrance (center door) of the Carter Center. 

The Office of Public Safety requests that you not park in the road, block fire lanes or park in areas that are not designated for parking.

GENERAL SEATING DIRECTIONS

Guests will first be directed to the main gymnasium for seating.  Seating capacity for the main gymnasium is 1,920.  Additional seating may be available in the small gymnasium to the left of the main gymnasium if circumstances dictate, where guests may watch the ceremony on a closed-circuit television. Security personnel will direct guests to the small gymnasium after capacity has been reached in the main gymnasium.  Concord respectfully asks that guests comply with requests from the public safety officers in an effort to adhere to safety and fire marshal regulations.

MOBILITY IMPAIRED DIRECTIONS

Please display your handicap decal.  Parking for guests with wheelchairs or others who need assistance will be in lot 4.  Appropriate signage will direct guests.  Please see an officer for entrance and seating information. Officers will be at the main entrance of the Carter Center. Ushers are available to assist with seating.

Uniformed campus police officers are available for any special accommodations or assistance that you may need.
