TRANSFERABILITY OF CREDITS AND GRADES

AT THE UNDERGRADUATE LEVEL

 

 

SECTION       1.         GENERAL

1.1.         Scope:  This policy establishes guidelines for the transferability of credits and grades at the undergraduate level.

SECTION       2.         PURPOSE

2.1.         Concord University requires all students to complete courses designed to fulfill general learning expectations and more specific learning goals in a major field of study.  It also requires all students to achieve and maintain designated cumulative and major-specific grade point averages.  

2.2.      The guidelines noted below are intended to be complete and

      consistent with appropriate and legitimate academic program integrity and to facilitate recognition of academic achievement and learning at other institutions.

 

SECTION       3.         TRANSFER GUIDELINES

3.1.      Undergraduate level credits earned at any West Virginia public institution or any regionally-accredited institution shall be transferable to Concord University.

3.1.1.   Evaluation of the applicability of transfer credits to Concord requirements requires review of an official transcript.

3.1.2.   A minimum of 56 semester hours at a baccalaureate institution is required with a minimum of fifteen semester hours in their major or teaching field.

3.1.3.   Students transferring from a West Virginia public institution can fulfill General Studies requirements at Concord under provisions of the Core Coursework Transfer Agreement.

3.1.4.   Specific articulation agreements between Concord and other institutions provide details regarding the applicability of transfer credits.                                                                                                  

3.2.      Undergraduate level grades earned at any West Virginia public institution or any regionally-accredited institution shall be recorded as earned.

3.2.1.   After transferring, a student must maintain a 2.00 grade point average in all courses taken at Concord.

3.2.2.   Graduation with honors designation will include calculation of grades from all courses taken at Concord and all transfer credit.
