GRADUATION CREDIT FOR PUBLIC SCHOOL SERVICE PROGRAM

SECTION 1. GENERAL

1.1 Scope: This policy establishes the Concord University policy regarding the awarding of graduation credit for service in the public schools.

1.2 Authority: West Virginia Code 18B-2A-5

SECTION 2. PURPOSE

2.1 Concord University students serve the public schools as tutors, student advisors, and mentors.

2.2 Concord University students instill in public school students the benefits of postsecondary education.

SECTION 3. PUBLIC SCHOOL SERVICE CREDIT

3.1 Graduation credit for service in the public schools requires

student enrollment in field-based teacher education courses.

3.2 Course enrollment requirements are available from the Director of Teacher Education.

3.3 Public school service is coordinated by the Coordinator of

Clinical Experiences.
