International Students Application Checklist


Concord University requires the following documents for international undergraduate admissions

OFFICIAL SAT SCORES: Concord requires a composite score of 810 (math and critical reading combined) or more on the SAT.  A 450 or higher is required on the critical reading portion of the SAT. The scores must be sent directly from the College Board or appear on your high school transcripts sent directly from the school.  Visit www.collegeboard.com to request your scores to be sent to Concord. SAT Code 5120.  No other reporting is accepted.  If the critical reading score is 449 or lower then a TOEFL score is required regardless if English is the first language. 

TOEFL: If your first language is not English, a TOEFL score is required with the SAT score. 500 or higher on the paper test TOEFL, 173 or higher on the computer-based TOEFL, or 61 or higher on the Internet based TOEFL. The University opts to consider admission on a case-by-case basis. All scores must be provided by the TOEFL institute. If TOEFL is not available, Concord also accepts the STEP EIKEN Proficiency 2A which is equivalent to the 500 score TOEFL and these scores must be sent by the STEP EIKEN institute.  Concord also accepts The International English Language Testing System IELTS academic test.   Students must have a score of 7 or higher and these scores must be provided by the IELTS institute.  No other reporting is accepted. 

Students who do not have test scores from TOEFL or STEP EIKEN Proficiency 2A or the IELTS need to visit www.concord.edu click the admissions icon, click the International icon, and click the link for English as a Second Language (ESL).

OFFICIAL HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPTS- Concord requires secondary school transcripts.  The secondary school report needs to include an explanation of the schools grading system and the country’s program of education listing classes taken and the grade in each class.    A certificate of completion is also required. This certificate should enable the student to be admitted to a university in their home country.  This documentation must be a true copy which needs to be officially notarized.  Exchange students must have transcripts sent from their schools in their home country as well as from the high school attended in the USA. 

OFFICIAL COLLEGE TRANSCRIPTS- If you have attended an institution of higher learning above secondary school (university), the university transcripts will need to be sent directly from the institution.  If the institution's location is outside the United States they must be sent for evaluation to Educational Credential Evaluators, Inc. www.ece.org.  There is a fee required for this service and you will be informed of this upon contacting the company.  A course by course evaluation must be sent to Concord University directly from the evaluators.  If you have attended an institution of higher learning above secondary school you are considered a transfer student and must mark this on the admissions application.  Concord University does not accept facsimiles (faxes) or scanned copies of documents.  We accept documents that have been officially notarized.

AFFIDAVIT OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT- The Affidavit of Financial Support must list a minimum of $21,000USD of support per year.  ($10,170.00 tuition and fees; $3,326.00 room; $3,204.00 meal plan; $1,060.00 books and supplies; $1,533.00 personal expense; $1,707 travel expense) [Figures are subject to change]   The Affidavit must be officially notarized, stamped and signed by your sponsor.  This document can be found on page 8 of the international application form.  Visit http://www.concord.edu/ click the admissions icon, click apply online icon, click the international student application link, and download the application. Again this affidavit must be officially notarized, stamped, and signed by the person listed as your sponsor.  Concord University does not accept facsimiles (faxes) or scanned copies of documents.  We accept documents that have been officially notarized.  NOTE: The Affidavit of Financial Support must list the minimum amount of $21,000USD whether you qualify for academic scholarship and/or tuition reduction.

CURRENT BANK STATEMENT- A current bank statement must be in the name of your financial sponsor who is listed on the Affidavit of Financial Support must be provided to Concord University.  The bank statement is a monthly cycle of deposits and withdrawals, stating a beginning balance and an ending balance.  This information is reviewed to calculate if financial support stated on the Affidavit is available to cover the cost of the education.  Financial information must be no older than 6 months because finances can drastically change.  Applicants must provide this documentation which indicates their sponsor can meet the financial responsibilities during the period of time they expect to be in residence. Other financial documents can be submitted to show financial support for the applicant. True copies are needed with notarization.  Concord University does not accept facsimiles (faxes) or scanned copies of documents.  We accept documents that have been officially notarized.

EMPLOYER STATEMENT- An employer statement is verification that your financial sponsor, who is listed on the Affidavit, is employed and notes his or her place of employment or position of employment.  This statement needs to be on company letterhead, even if your sponsor is self-employed.

COPY OF PASSPORT- A legible copy of the page with your name and photograph must be provided to Concord University.

OFFICIAL COPY OF IMMUNIZATION- Documentation from a doctor proving immunization from measles, mumps and rubella must be provided to Concord University.

All information must be in the University's possession no later than May 31 for the fall semester, or by October 31 for the spring semester of any given year.  Admissions requirements and verification processes are subject to change and can vary by country.
