What Is The Honors Program?

The Concord University Honors Program provides students with high achievement special opportunities to enrich their Concord education.  Honors students are encouraged to take an active part in shaping their own education, both in and outside the classroom.  This is done by helping students design their own course enhancements and by making more extensive use of the opportunities for independent study and research which the University provides.  Honors students also enjoy the opportunity to interact with fellow achievers, both in the Honors courses and on a daily basis in the Honors Residence Area.  In addition, students who successfully complete the Honors Program are distinguished as Honors Graduates.  They receive special recognition at commencement and "Honors Graduate" appears on all transcripts and diplomas.  A cover letter detailing the nature of this achievement will be sent to potential employers or graduate schools along with the transcript.
