Parents of Concord Students
Are Invited to Campus For "Parents Day 2000"
Concord faculty and staff will welcome parents of current students when they come to the Athens campus Friday, March 10, 2000. The College is hosting the 3rd annual Parents Day so that parents can touch base with their student’s teachers and staff members that serve them.
Director of Alumni Affairs and Parents Club Coordinator Kati Whittaker is organizing the event. She noted that PARENTS DAY 2000 is being held on the Friday before spring break as an added convenience for parents who would like to pick their students up.

The College encourages feedback from parents. Ms. Whittaker stated that, "Lots of great ideas come out of our breakout sessions with the parents."
Dr. Jerry Beasley, president of the College commented that, "Concord has a relationship with parents as a result of their child choosing us. We want our relationship with parents to be a good one and we actively solicit their opinion on a wide variety of topics including financial aid, housing and campus activities. This helps us fine-tune our services and focus on areas where we need to improve."

Concord College Notes: Fall enrollment for 1999 was close to 2,800 with 75% of the student population receiving some sort of financial aid (scholarships and need-based federal financial aid); $9.7 million was awarded in the 98/99 school year and $12.2 million in 99/00, an increase of 26%.
