"REAL WORLD STUFF"–CONCORD STUDENTS WILL LEARN BASICS FROM LOCAL BUSINESS MANAGERS
"
By the time students graduate, they should know a lot about their major field," stated Tammy Jenkins, director of career services for Concord College. "But we are finding that even the smartest of students may know little about insurance needs, investing for their future, buying a car, or evaluating job offers."?
At Colgate University in New York, seniors returned to campus a few days early from winter break for the fifth annual "Real World" seminar. They attended panel presentations on cooking, car buying, insurance, taxes and personal finance. Lebanon Valley College in Pennsylvania invited realtors, car dealers and bankers on-campus to teach seniors the realities of furniture loans, apartment leases and home mortgages during a "Senior Sendoff" information fair.?Concord College will be hosting
