Athens, W. Va. – Concord University Artist Lecture Series is sponsoring the Saint Louis Brass Quintet Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at 8 p.m. in the Main Theater of the Alexander Fine Arts Center.
The Saint Louis Brass Quintet performs a broad spectrum of music for brass from the works of today’s composers to Baroque and Renaissance music. Members of the Saint Louis Symphony formed the Saint Louis Brass Quintet in 1964. They began playing children’s concerts in the St. Louis area and soon began performing for adults. They are funded by the National Endowment for the Arts as well as the Missouri Arts Council. Forty years later and after more than 2,500 concerts, the Saint Louis Brass Quintet continues to entertain audiences nationwide.
