Athens, W.Va. – Concord University will be holding the 20th annual Concord University Foundation Homer K. Ball Scholarship Golf Tournament on Friday, June 13, 2008, at the beautiful 18-hole course at Pipestem Resort State Park. Participants will be helping some of the state’s best students receive a
Tee time for the tournament will be Friday the 13th at 8:30 a.m., and lunch will be served immediately following the tournament at the picnic shelter below the golf course parking lot. The cost is $125 per person and includes lunch, green fees, cart, and tournament souvenirs. Drawings include a grand prize of a two-day stay for two at The Greenbrier, plus many other great prizes. Murphy Insurance will be providing a cash prize of $15,000 to the first hole-in-one on the eighth hole.
Scholarships for Concord University students are at the heart of this annual golfing event. For the past 19 years, funds from the golf tournament have been earmarked for student scholarships.
