The Division of Business at Concord University is recognized for having sound programs in major business disciplines that are designed to qualify graduates for leadership positions in today's complex global society.

The program is distinguished by:

  • rigorous academic standards
  • comprehensive programs of study grounded in a liberal arts foundation
  • extensive involvement with leaders of the regional business community
  • a record of achievement and success among its graduates
  • faculty recognized for their academic preparation, ability, and professional training.

Business Division faculty are involved in both teaching and scholarly research. Their credentials are percentage-wise among the highest in our state college and university system. Faculty present community service seminars, are involved in the local business community, and offer consulting services.

Students majoring in the disciplines in the Division of Business have the advantage of a strong foundation grounded in the liberal arts. The Division's well-designed core, completed by all business majors, is followed by course work in each major that leads to a profound understanding of business and its worldwide practices today. Students completing our program achieve goals in written and oral communications, gain proficiency in the use of current technologies, and develop critical thinking abilities.

Our graduates have a history of high performance on post-exit examinations, such as the CPA licensure examination, and they report themselves to be satisfied in their careers. Many Division of Business alumni continue their academic pursuits in graduate schools, earning MBA, law, medical, and other degrees.
