The Division of Social Sciences at Concord University examines the development, structure, conditions, and implications of human association. Social Sciences disciplines develop not only an understanding of the theoretical bases, but also an applied knowledge of human society. Social Sciences include a wide spectrum of disciplines and perspectives such as Geography, History, Legal Studies and Pre-law, Political Science, Public and Non-Profit Administration, Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Appalachian Studies and Recreation and Tourism Management.

The Social Sciences’ curriculums provide traditional liberal arts as well as programs aimed at a job market. Upon graduation, our students are equally well prepared to pursue graduate and professional educations, and to enter the communities of both today and tomorrow.
