Graduate Assistantship now available for the Concord/New River CFWV Fellows Partnership. The GA position will be responsible for performing the specific activities required to meet the goal of the partnership, ensuring that adult learners and first-generation college students are identified and provided the support needed to earn an associate’s and/or bachelor’s degree. Phase 1 of the program will allow for the identification of individuals who can benefit from the program, offering outreach and information regarding the (re)admission process, financial aid availability, and assisting with the enrollment process. Phase 2 will create on-campus support systems for the adult/returning students once they have (re)applied to Concord or New River CTC.

A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution is required and the Fellow should be enrolled in a graduate degree program. The applicant should also possess excellent communication and organizational skills, be comfortable working in a collaborative atmosphere and be proficient with Microsoft Office programs. A valid driver’s license is required.

One Assistantship is currently available at Concord University in Athens, WV, reporting to Director of Admissions

This assistantship is available for spring 2013 and fall 2013. Salary is budgeted at $4,500 per semester, for a 20 hour per week time commitment. Some evening and weekend hours may be required. Occasional travel to the New River CTC campus in Beckley, WV, may also be required.

Funding for this assistantship is provided by a grant from WV Campus Compact. The individual hired will be an employee of the Concord University Research and Development Corporation. Renewal of the position is contingent upon grant funding.
