Grants and Contracts Assistant - Concord University
Research and Development Corporation

Position Announcement

Individual will administer grants and contracts (Federal, State, Corporate, etc) in accordance with agency and university policies and procedures. Responsibilities will include both pre and post award activities including, but not limited to working with faculty/departments in formulating budgets and related proposal information, reviewing awards to ensure acceptability of terms and conditions within university policy, reviewing and approving expenditures charged to grants and contracts, drafting/typing various correspondence and reports. Bachelor’s degree required. 1 – 2 years experience with grants management preferred. Well-developed oral and written communication, organization and analytical skills, and the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite are essential.

Program Director, Concord University Upward Bound Program

The Concord University Upward Bound program seeks a Program Director to oversee all activities for two federally-funded Upward Bound grants at Concord University. The Director is responsible for the programmatic, operational, and fiscal management of the program and is accountable for its overall success. The Program Director position is federally funded, full time, benefits eligible position with a salary commensurate with experience, contingent upon the availability of funding.
Successful candidates will hold a Master’s degree in Education, Counseling, or relevant field; A minimum of 3 years of related full-time professional experience serving high school and/or college students, low-income and/or diverse populations; At least 2 years’ experience in directing an educational, training or related program and monitoring and assessing program success; Experience in personnel supervision; fiscal management; Ability to accurately interpret and comply with federal and state legislation and institutional regulations; Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills; Must understand and be able to effectively communicate to a broad audience the needs of first-generation, low income, and students traditionally underrepresented in higher education; Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to positively and effectively relate to students, parents, and school/college administrators and faculty.
Preferred Qualifications include experience with grants, including budget development and grants management; Successful U.S. Department of Education grant writing experience; Knowledge and experience in post-secondary education; Knowledge of learning styles, educational methods, student development and curriculum experience with college admission/financial aid processes; Experience with US Department of Education TRIO grant programs or a similar Educational Opportunity Program; Knowledge or experience with program evaluation; Reliable transportation and valid WV Driver’s license for 3+ years in addition to the willingness to travel daily to local schools.
