Executive Director of Piney Creek Watershed Association (hereto referred to as PCWA).
Qualifications: Executive Director (Director) should be a confident, creative selfstarter and team player with excellent organizational, speaking, interpersonal and writing skills (especially grant writing skills). He/she should feel comfortable speaking to large groups, coordinating teams, chairing committees, and working independently with limited supervision or direction. He/she should be versed in planning events, speaking/writing for media and have basic knowledge of water quality issues. Additionally, the director should be an experienced individual who believes in concepts of PCWA and requires minimal day to day supervision to carry out the policies & goals of the organization.
A degree in natural resources/sciences (hydrology, forestry, fisheries, biology) or one year of related professional experience is desirable. Experience working with landowners on restoration plans or projects with project budget planning and management would be considered a large plus. A valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle and adequate vehicle insurance are required without exception. (Mileage directly associated with PCWA activity will be compensated). Applicant must also have ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and hike on uneven terrain for extended periods of time. Skills in Word, Excel, Quick Books, Power-point, GPS, as well as database and website skills are needed. A working knowledge of GIS is desired. Executive Director is also responsible for keeping the PCWA website up to date and active.
Specifics of Position: This is a thirty (30) hour per week position. Flexibility may be needed to accomplish work tasks requiring more hours during special projects which may be adjusted with approval of an Executive Board representative. Some evening and weekend hours will be necessary. Compensation is expected to be $15 per hour, with an anticipated increase upon completion of a three-month probationary period.
PCWA will provide the necessary office materials and equipment for the Director to carry out the desired responsibilities. Office space will be provided. The PCWA Executive Board will be the Director’s supervising entity.
