Bio

Dr. Zamzow was raised in Iowa by a very musical family. After completing her BA degree at Luther College she taught high school band in Vinton, IA. There her groups grew in numbers and received their first Division I rating at the state competition in 17 years. She received her Masters degree at UNCo in horn performance and continued her studies in the doctorate conducting program. There she assisted with three concert bands, marching band and conducting courses. Dr. Zamzow was hired at Concord in the fall of 2008 and completed her doctoral degree in 2011.Dr. Zamzow has been a guest conductor for the WV honor bands in Mercer, Fayette, and Putnam counties.Dr. Zamzow has performed with orchestras and bands in Iowa, Colorado, Wyoming and West Virginia. She has been a finalist in several concerto competitions and given several horn and piano recitals. Currently she is the faculty sponsor for CMENC and the Alpha Sigma Tau sorority. Research, Dissertation, Etc linksHer dissertation is a set of 10 transcriptions of Renaissance and early Baroque music for high school band. She plans on publishing the transcriptions within the next couple years.
