Sarah M. Whittaker, PhD, MSW, LCSW, is an Associate Professor of Social Work at Concord University. Her current position involves teaching undergraduate students in the accredited Bachelor of Social Work program and she has served as the director of the Social Work program for the past two years. Prior to teaching at Concord University, she practiced in the child welfare field for twenty-one years. She received a Master of Social Work degree from West Virginia University and a PhD in Counselor Education from Virginia Tech. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and has served on the WVNASW state Board of Directors for the past three years. Locally, she serves on the Advisory Council for the Children’s Home Society of West Virginia and on the Board of Directors for Community Connections, Inc.
