Congressman Nick Joe Rahall to Visit Concord This Friday, February 9
Athens, W.Va. - Congressman Nick Joe Rahall (D-WV) will be on campus Friday, February 9, 2001. College officials will provide a brief tour and explanation of how federal funding has assisted the College with the implementation of instructional technology.
The College has received $1,000,000 through the efforts of Congressman Rahall to provide infrastructure development for information technology.
The tour group will form in the Concord Room, near the president’s office on the second floor of Marsh Hall at 2:00 p.m.
1. Tim Barnes, director, center for academic technologies and associate professor of instructional systems development, will provide a brief overview on the development of technology on campus.
2. The group will then tour the College’s technology enhanced classroom that is near completion.
3. Dr. Kathy Liptak will brief the Congressman on how teaching and teacher education students will benefit from the technology the College is implementing.
4. The group will then proceed to J. Frank Marsh Library where Stephen D. Rowe, library director and College archivist and chair of the College’s technology committee will discuss future plans for the implementation of technology on campus.
