Terrorism Expert to Lecture at Concord
Athens, W.Va. - Jeffery Simon is a highly regarded expert consultant on terrorism and political violence and the author of the critically acclaimed book, The Terrorist Trap: America’s Experience with Terrorism. He explores the psychological, political and social elements that make terrorism unlike any other conflict.
Jeffery Simon will be lecturing in the Alexander Fine Arts Center Main Auditorium at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday March 7, 2001. Admission is free to the public.
Simon earned a Bachelor of Arts in history from the University of California at Berkley, an M.A. in Political Science from Indiana University, and his Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Southern California. He has lectured and given workshops on terrorism and political violence to university audiences, law enforcement personnel, emergency services organizations, and the medical community.
Jeffrey Simon has had op-ed pieces in the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, and the San Diego Union-Tribune. His articles have also appeared in several journals, including Foreign Policy to the Journal of the American Medical Association, the Columbia Journal of World Business, and the Washington Monthly.
