Concord College Hosts Area Colleges for College Fair
Athens, W.Va. - Thursday, September 27, 2001, Concord College will host a regional college fair for students who live in Mercer County. More than 40 colleges and universities will be on campus with displays and information for high school juniors and seniors. This is an excellent opportunity for students and their parents to compare the options available from the various institutions. The fair will be held in the large gymnasium of the Leslie R. and Ruby Webb Carter Center (formerly Centennial Hall), 8:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. The fair is free to students and their parents.
Friday, September 28, 2001, Concord College will host an SAT “prep” class. Students who take this course often times can improve their score by more than 100 points. Vice President for Admissions and Financial Aid Michael Curry will conduct the class in the College Center ballroom on the third floor, 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. The class size is limited to the first 100 students who sign up either through their high school guidance counselor or through the College’s admissions office. The prep course is provided free of charge by the College’s admissions office.
Concord College will host SeniorFest Open House, Saturday, September 29, 2001,
10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. The event is free to high school seniors and their families. While on campus, high school seniors and their families will have an opportunity to meet College faculty, staff and students. Those interested in attending the open house need to register with the College’s admissions office.
