Special Event Set for Area Concord Alumni
Athens, W.Va. - The “Pine Trees Chapter,” a newly formed organization of Concord College alumni and friends, is planning a special event.
The Chapter will hold a "Thank You Breakfast" on Friday morning, April 25, at 7:30 a.m., to show appreciation to local alumni for having attended Concord. The breakfast will be held at the home of Concord College President Jerry Beasley, and his wife, Jean. All alumni interested in becoming involved with the organization are invited to attend.
Chapter organizers will host a short program and conduct a tour of the campus to relive past times on the "Campus Beautiful" and see exciting changes the campus has undergone in recent years.
The breakfast is sponsored by Mercer County Schools Career Connection, and the Mercer County Technical Education Center. Reservations are limited to the first 50 respondents for the complimentary meal.
Alumni and friends who take part in the chapter now will be offered charter memberships.
The Pine Trees Chapter seeks to relive memories, strengthen friendships, enjoy new networking and social opportunities, and serve as a voice of support for Concordians in southern West Virginia and southwestern Virginia counties.
Chapter organizers include: Ira “Ike” Southern, Beryle C. Santon, Linda Cox, Carol McClaugherty, Larry Cook, John Groseclose, Susan “Sunshine” Gabriel, Margaret Ann Scott, Ruth Boyd, and Joy Robinette.
