Hot Club of San Francisco to Perform at Concord, Monday, September 22
Athens, W. Va. – On Monday, September 22, the Hot Club of San Francisco will carry listeners at Concord College to the 1930’s with entrancing jazz music. The ensemble, patterned after the Hot Club De France, consists of violins, guitars, and bass. Because of their original pieces, as well as innovative arrangements of classical tunes, critics have raved that the Hot Club is “intricate, scorching, and often brilliant.”
The music of the Hot Club has delighted audiences in Mexico, France, and North America for the past ten years through live concerts; the group has six different albums.
The Hot Club of San Francisco will perform in the Main Auditorium of the Alexander Fine Arts Center at 8 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults, $4 for senior citizens, and $2 for non-Concord students.
This program is presented with financial assistance from the West Virginia Division of Culture and History and the National Endowments for the Arts, with approval from the West Virginia Commission on Arts.
