"Sylvia" Takes the Stage at Concord, February 24 through 26
Athens, W.Va. - Concord University will present the play “Sylvia,” by A.R. Gurney, Thursday, February 24 through Saturday, February 26 in the Alexander Fine Arts Center H.C. Paul theater. All performances begin at 8 p.m.
“Sylvia,” directed by Concord University senior Karen Atha from Beckley, presents the story of a married couple, Greg and Kate. They move to the city where Greg brings home a dog, bearing the name Sylvia on a nametag. Sylvia offers Greg companionship and a rivalry for Kate. After a series of complications, Greg and Kate learn to compromise and Sylvia becomes a valued part of their lives. The cast includes Stephen Hensley, Athens; Elizabeth Belton, Bluefield; Mary Redington, Linthicum, Md.; Michelle Donaldson, Hedgesville; Miranda Garnes, South Charleston; and Rob Schumacher, Princeton.
