CU Alumni Association to Host Reception at Tamarack, Thursday, December 8
Athens, W.Va. – The Concord University Alumni Association and the Pine Trees chapter of the Association (representing southern W.Va.) are hosting a holiday reception in the Atrium at the Tamarack Conference Center in Beckley on Thursday, December 8 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The ConChords, a select vocal ensemble that includes approximately 20 students of various majors will be performing and refreshments will be served.
Alumni from Fayette, Greenbrier, Mercer, Raleigh and Wyoming counties are encouraged to attend.
Those assisting with the coordination of the reception include: Charles W. “Charlie” Akers ‘49 from Fayette County, Marlene F. Pierson-Jolliffe ’87 from Greenbrier County, William H. “Bill” Baker ‘62 from Raleigh County and C.C. “Sonnie” Phillips ’50 from Wyoming County.
William H. “Bill” Baker ‘62 said, “Concord University is on the move. The holiday season is a great time for graduates to gather and celebrate the new university status, to socialize and to renew old friendships. What better place to meet than beautiful Tamarack?
