CU to Host First-ever Graduation Fair
Athens, W.Va. – Concord University will be hosting its first-ever Graduation Fair, to benefit seniors at Concord University who will be graduating this spring or summer. The Fair will be Monday, February 12, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom.
Candidates for graduation must visit various offices on campus prior to graduation to complete paperwork in advance of commencement. The Graduation Fair will bring together more than 15 offices for a “one stop shopping” experience for the candidates.
Participating offices include the following: Alumni Affairs, Book Store, Office of Career Services, Public Relations and Marketing, Registrar’s Office, Financial Aid, Residence Life, Student Support Services, Multicultural Affairs, Honors Program, Athletics, Admissions, Student Affairs, Student Center Office, Business Office, Student Government Association and the CU Post Office. A representative from Josten’s will be present so students can order class rings and announcements and several area graduate schools will have representatives in attendance in the event a student is considering continuing their education for an advanced degree.
Director of Career Services, Tammy Monk, said that, “We have seen other universities have great success with such an event. With spare time at a premium for our students, we are hoping this streamlined process will make their leaving Concord a positive and easy experience. Great door prizes, food, live music, and a free picture with Roar [the University’s mountain lion mascot] will add to the festive feeling of the event!”
