Concord University to Host Job Fair Thursday, November 13
Athens, W.Va. – The Office of Career Services at Concord University is hosting a Job Fair Thursday, November 13 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Jerry Beasley Student Center Ballroom.
“This job fair will give our students, as well as students who attend other colleges or universities, an opportunity to talk to local and regional employers and begin the process of networking,” noted Tammy Monk, director of career services.
“More than 200 employers have been invited to attend. Companies are welcome to register until Friday, October 17. This is a unique opportunity for employers who have hiring needs for interns, part-time or full-time employees,” she continued. “Some companies just like to share information for future needs.
“There is no fee to participate for either the employer or those who are seeking employment. And, this will be an excellent opportunity for employers to meet and screen potential employees from our area colleges. We anticipate having freshmen- through senior-level students attend. Students from Concord and other regional institutions will be invited to attend, Monk concluded.
“Networking opportunities provide leads for 80 percent of jobs, and they are critically important to the success of college graduates and the professional community,” stated Linda Martus, student coordinator for the fair. Martus, from Princeton, is a senior, majoring in recreation and tourism management.
