Sons Carry Tradition of Support for CU Foundation with Golf Tournament
Athens, W.Va. – A pouring rain welcomed 80 golfers to Pipestem Resort State Park on Friday, June 12 as they gathered for the annual golf tournament hosted by the Concord University Foundation. Sponsored, in years past, by Concord supporter Homer Ball, this year’s event was held in his memory as his sons, Phillip and Greg, welcomed guests and thanked them for supporting the Concord University Foundation.

The winning foursome with a score of 59 was Mike Kellar, Kenny Osborne, Mike Cox and Darcy Donaldson representing the Mountain Lion Club with second place going to Jeff Broyles, Brian Davis, Rodney Hearst and Don Meadows representing Joy Manufacturing with a score of 60.
Jeff Broyles from Bluefield, Va., was the lucky golfer who won the grand prize of a week’s stay at Oak Island, N.C. The grand prize was provided by Ray Mull of Princeton.
