Concord University Collegiate Singers Performing Mozart's 'Requiem in D Minor'
ATHENS - The Concord University Collegiate Singers will present Mozart’s “Requiem in D Minor” on Saturday, April 30 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, May 1 at 3 p.m. Both performances will take place in the Wilkes Family Chapel at University Point, Concord’s newest addition to campus.
The choir will be accompanied by a full professional orchestra and will feature soloists Jordan Stadvec, Sarah Edgar, Michael Dorsey and Matthew Hamilton. Joshua Miller, director of vocal studies at Concord, will conduct the performances
The “Requiem in D Minor” was Mozart’s final composition. He died before completing it. Miller said, “It’s a beautiful work, full of passion and intricacy. We are very excited to be performing it in the Wilkes Family Chapel at University Point. The chapel is not only visually beautiful but the acoustics are stunning.”
General admission tickets are $5 per person and free with Concord University identification. Advanced ticket purchases are recommended due to limited seating. Tickets can be reserved by visiting www.ConcordUEvents.com, emailing BoxOffice@concord.edu or calling 304-384-5101.
