NATURAL SCIENCES EVENTS ANNOUNCED AT CONCORD UNIVERSITY
ATHENS, W.Va. - The Division of Natural Sciences at Concord University announces several upcoming events.
Concord alumnus and current West Virginia University Medical School student Chris Jones will present a lecture on Friday, April 13 entitled “Pathology: An Introduction to the Foundation of Medicine.” The presentation will be held from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Science Building Room 400. Jones graduated from Concord in 2009.
Concord will host the West Virginia State Mathematics Field Day on Saturday, April 21. More than 200 students in grades 4-12 are expected to compete. The awards ceremony begins at 3:30 p.m.
In conjunction with the mathematics competition, a Science Open House will also be held at Concord on April 21. The open house will feature demonstrations and activities in astronomy, chemistry, geology, biology and physics for K-12 teachers, students and their parents. Most open house activities will take place from 12 noon to 4 p.m. in the Science Building, where schedules will be posted.
