PROVIDING LIVE COVERAGE OF MOUNTAIN LION FOOTBALL
ATHENS, W.Va. – Concord University’s student radio station, WVCU, is providing live coverage of CU’s Mountain East Conference opener against West Virginia State on Saturday, Sept. 14 at Callaghan Stadium. Kickoff is 1 p.m. in the first home game of the season for the Mountain Lions.
“This is an opportunity of a lifetime,” WVCU Radio student Tommy Himebaugh said. “It’s not every day you get to announce a college football game.” Himebaugh will be just one student behind the microphone during the game Saturday. Student Tyler Jackson will offer the play-by play and CU alum and adjunct instructor Chris Meadows will serve as color analyst.
“I am excited for my students to have this opportunity to provide coverage for Mountain Lion football,” Jessica Doty, WVCU Radio advisor said. “It’s really a privilege and an honor to provide this service for football fans and the community.”
