ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University ConChords will present their fall concert featuring French chamber music at Concord University on Wednesday, Oct. 30 in University Point’s Wilkes Family Chapel at 7 p.m.
The music will be a representation of French composers covering the Renaissance to twentieth century impressionism. The composers represented are Josquin De Prez, Clément Janequin, Jean-Philippe Rameau, Camile Saint-Saëns, and Claude Debussy.
“This repertoire has been an excellent learning experience for the singers, and they have done a great job learning the French prose and pronunciation,” explained Dr. Keely Rhodes.
The ConChords are the auditioned chamber choir of Concord University under the direction of Rhodes. Soloists that will be featured at this event will be students Caitlin Chisholm and Alec Tincher.
The concert will be around 45 minutes and is a free event open to the public; however, donations will be accepted to help defer the costs of choral music. For more information, call Dr. Keely Rhodes, at (304) 384-5301 or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org
