ATHENS, W.Va. – A reception to welcome a visiting Russian university official to Concord University will take place in Athens on Monday, Oct. 20. The gathering is being held in honor of Dr. Evgenii Romanov, the rector (president) of Volga State University of Technology, Mari-El, Russian Federation.

Students and faculty from the two schools have made annuals visits to each other since 2007 and faculty have engaged in cooperative research projects. This is the first time Dr. Romanov has visited Concord.

The exchange is an example of Concord’s efforts to globalize curriculum and create international learning opportunities for CU students.
