CONCORD UNIVERSITY’S CONCERT BAND

 PRESENTS ‘A LONG WINTER’S BREAK’

ATHENS, W.Va. – Concord University’s concert band will be hosting their first concert of the semester entitled “A Long Winter’s Break” on Wednesday, March 11, at 7 p.m. in the Alexander Fine Arts Center’s Main Auditorium.

The music will use different styles, from a soft legato, to a bright march to evoke the ease of the relaxation when snowed in with pieces like Frank Erickson’s “Air for Band” to the bright excitement of when the sun returns with pieces such as John Phillip Sousa’s “The Washington Post March.”

There is no admission cost for “A Long Winter’s Break” but donations are being accepted at the door. The concert band will also be holding another performance on April 27th at 7 p.m.

For more information, contact Dr. David Ball at dball@concord.edu or the CU Box Office at 304-384-5101.
