PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION RAISING FUNDS

FOR CONCORD UNIVERSITY’S STUFF THE BUS

ATHENS, W.Va. – Concord University’s Beckley campus is sponsoring a photography contest and exhibition to raise funds for Stuff the Bus. A similar contest was held in March. This is the third year that Concord has collected school supplies for southern West Virginia children in need through Stuff the Bus.

The competition is open to amateur, professional and youth photographers.  The deadline for print submissions is Oct. 28, 2015. Cost to enter is $5 per print for adults and $2 per print for youths.

The photography exhibition will be on display at the Erma Byrd Higher Education Center in Beaver, W.Va. Nov. 2 through Nov. 6. Winning prints will be displayed at Associated Photography in Princeton from Nov. 9 thorough Nov. 13.

“With the funds raised we will be able to continue to reach out and help kids in the community by providing them with the tools they need for their education,” Stuff the Bus coordinator Pam Wallace said.

She said the photography contest and exhibition “is a great way to view some of the work of the talented photographers both amateur and professional that will submit their work.”

Entry forms, entry fees and photographs must be received at one of the following drop-off areas no later than Oct. 28, 2015: Concord University Beckley, 300 University Dr., Beaver, W.Va.; Concord University Athens, President’s Office, Marsh Hall Room A200, Athens, W.Va.; and Associated Photography, 813 Mercer St., Princeton, W.Va.
