FORMER CONGRESSMAN BOB INGLIS

TO SPEAK AT CONCORD UNIVERSITY

CONSTITUTION DAY PRESENTATION

ATHENS, W.Va. – Former Congressman Bob Inglis (R-SC) will be the featured speaker for a Constitution Day Presentation at Concord University on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017. The event is being hosted by Pi Sigma Alpha, Concord’s Political Science Honor Society.

The one-hour program will begin at 7 p.m. in the Wilkes Family Chapel in University Point on the Athens campus. There is no admission charge and the general public is invited to join the Concord campus community in attending the event.

Inglis is Executive Director of republicEn.org, a grassroots organization of conservatives, libertarians, and pragmatists dedicated to educating people on the issue of climate change. RepublicEns believe that free enterprise can deliver the solution to climate change in a more effective way than subsidies and regulation. His talk, “A Free Enterprise Solution to Climate Change,” will address how conservatives can come together and move America forward on the issue.

Inglis attended Duke University and the University of Virginia Law School. He was elected into the U.S. Congress in 1992 representing Greenville-Spartanburg, S.C. and held office from 1993-1998. He was reelected in 2004 serving until 2010.

He was a Resident Fellow at Harvard University’s Institute of Politics in 2011, a Visiting Energy Fellow at Duke University’s Nicholas School of the Environment in 2012, and a Resident Fellow at the University of Chicago’s Institute of Politics in 2014. In 2015, he became a recipient of the John F. Kennedy Profile of Courage Award for his work on climate change.
