ATHENS, W.Va. – The fine arts faculty of Concord University will be performing during a recital on April 16, 2014 at 7 p.m. in the Main Auditorium of the Alexander Fine Arts Building.

The concert will feature early music from the Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque eras all played on instruments from those time periods. The faculty is also welcoming a special guest, Judy Blevins from Roanoke, Va., who will be playing the harpsichord. Essentially a pre-modern piano, the harpsichord does not get to make an appearance very often at Concord.

Faculty member and staff accompanist Laurel Black says, “We’re very excited Judy is joining us.”

Most faculty recitals at Concord usually feature more contemporary music, making the repertoire for this show very different from the pieces usually played.
