#GIVINGTUESDAY GIFTS CAN SUPPORT

THE CONCORD UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION

ATHENS, W.Va.  – The Concord University Foundation has joined #GivingTuesday, a global philanthropic effort.

Concord University alumni, donors and friends are encouraged to remember the Concord University Foundation, Inc. with a contribution on #GivingTuesday, which is being held on Nov. 28 this year. This annual day of philanthropy celebrated around the world is marking its sixth year in 2017.

#GivingTuesday is held each year on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (in the US) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday to kick off the holiday giving season and to inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.

The Concord University Foundation’s emphasis on #GivingTuesday is a part of the organization’s end of year giving with gifts going directly to the annual fund for funding campus projects and other important needs.

“Concord University has given a lot to all of us, whether it’s education, friendship, career, memories, values...or any number of other things,” said Max Sopher, Interim Director of Alumni and Donor Relations. “#GivingTuesday is a day that we can all celebrate that by giving back to the institution we love so that it may be all of those things for students for generations to come.”
