Typical Room and their Dimensions

The dimensions listed below are approximate for all residence halls. Please note that rooms in North and South Towers are already carpeted and the following windows contain curtains: Wilson Hall and Wooddell Hall. The "inner window" measurements are the inner dimensions needed, for example, with mini blinds. The "outer window" measurements include the total height and width of a window (including any wooden frame). Plastic spring loaded rods, rather than metal rods, are strongly recommended for window coverings placed inside the window frame. The floor area is the square portion of a given room's floor. This does not include the floor space which may exist in front of the room door and between fixed closets.

Every room is equipped with a bed, mattress, dresser, desk, desk chair, and closet or wardrobe for each occupant. There is a trash container provided (one per room) and each living area is equipped with an overhead lighting fixture. Students generally prefer additional lighting; however, halogen lamps are not permitted. North and South Tower rooms also contain bulletin boards and desk lamps. Furniture provided in student rooms must remain in the room. Students are responsible for any furniture that is missing or damaged at the time of check-out and will be charged accordingly.

Cable Television

All residence halls and the College Court Apartments are equipped with cable service provided by the local cable television company. Concord's expanded basic TV cable service package (incorporated into room cost) includes an on-campus film channel which plays a variety of current movies.
Internet Access

Concord University provides direct fiber optic Internet access to all residence halls. Two portholes, one for each occupant, exist in each residence hall room. Wireless Internet access is provided in common areas of residence halls as well. Students must provide their own ethernet cable

Fire Safety Equipment and Insurance

For residents' safety, each residence hall is equipped with heat and/or smoke detectors, fire alarm pull stations and fire extinguishers. Please remember tapestries or paper products may never be hung over lights.

Students are strongly encouraged to possess personal property insurance for their belongings. Your family's insurance agent can inform you whether personal items are covered under your family's current homeowner's policy.
