Things You Need To Know About Outlook Live
- Remember that e-mail sent/received from your Outlook Live mailbox will have a return address of <userid>@mycu.concord.edu
- You MUST complete an initial login to your Outlook Live account to activate it and start receiving email.
- If you use the MyCU portal, use its’ password change feature to change your password instead of live, this will keep all of your campus accounts in sync.

How to Get Started
Your account will be auto created for you upon acceptance to Concord. There are two quick ways to access your outlook live account:
- MyCU Portal Users: Current and recent students can go to http://mycu.concord.edu and login with their UserID and current password, new freshman login with their UserID and their student ID# (774******), if it is the first time you are logging in.
After logging in successfully, you can access your outlook live email by clicking the E-MAIL icon in the upper right:

IMPORTANT: Although this is all that’s necessary to access your live email through MyCU, if you plan on setting up your phone or other email client to access your live email, you MUST change your password first by going to My Account:

This will change and sync the same password across your MyCU, outlook live accounts, and other campus accounts.
NOTE: The old email service will not be accessible through the MyCU portal once Outlook Live goes active, go to http://mail.concord.edu to access the old email service until it is discontinued December 1st, 2010.
- Standalone Access (non-MyCU users): You MUST change your password before you can login to your outlook live account the first time. Go to http://password.concord.edu to change your password.
NOTE: if you use MyCU or other campus services and you change your password using this form, the change affects those accounts also.
You can now access outlook live directly by opening a web browser and going to http://outlook.com
Your Windows Live ID is your entire mycu email address (userid@mycu.concord.edu)
Privacy and Security
- To ensure your privacy when using Outlook Live Web on public or shared computers, be sure to logoff AND close all browser windows when finished. This applies to MyCU and the standalone methods of Live access.
