Adding a slide to your site

When adding a slide to your site you have two modes to pick from (see number 1 in the figure below). The first is “Text with standard image” and the other is “Text with random image”. By default the manager is set to “Text with standard image”.

After selecting a mode you need to enter a title (see number 2 in the figure below). The title for a slide is limited to 255 characters. As you type in the box the character counter will update to show how many characters you have.

Next you have to upload a slide image, if you choose the “Text with standard image” mode. When uploading a slide image the image must be in jpeg or png format. To upload the slide image click on “Choose File” (see number 3 in the figure below) then find the slide image on your computer and click open.

Next you have the option to include a link, text and button text on the slide (see numbers 4, 5, and 6 in the figure below). The link can be any website that you want the slide to point to. The text for a slide is limited to 30 words only. As you type in the box the word counter will update to show how many words you have. If you added a link to your slide, you are going to want to add some button text, otherwise your slide will not link to anything. The button text is limited to 255 characters. As you type in the box the character counter will update to show how many characters you have.

Whether or not you choose to have a link, text, and button text is up to you. But all slides must have a begin and end time (see numbers 7 and 8 in the figure below). The format for both is DD-MM-YYYY hh:mm:ss. Where DD is two digit day, MM is two digit month, YYYY is four digit year, hh is two digit hour in 24 hour format (00-23), mm is two digit minute, and ss is two digit second. For example 19-05-2015 13:00:00 for a begin time would make the slide show up on your site at 1pm today. When setting the end time for a slide you also have the option to have the slide “Never expire” (see number 9 in the figure below). Clicking this box will make the slide stay on your site until you manually remove it.

The last option you have is setting the slide weight (see number 10 in the figure below). Slide weight is just the order in which the slides show up on your site. So a slide with a -1 weight would show before a slide with a 0 weight.

After you have set all the settings for a slide just click the green “Create” button (see number 11 in the figure below) to add the slide to your site. If all goes well you will see “Slide Created...” at the top of your screen. If not then you will see an error message telling you what you did wrong.

Updating or removing a slide from your site

Updating a slide on your site is easy. First access the slide manager (Refer to the section above titled “Accessing the Slide Manager”). Then under the active slides section, look for the slide that you would like to update, then just make your changes and click the green “Update” button (see number 1 in the figure below). If all goes well you will see “Slide Updated...” at the top of your screen. The removing of a slide from your site happens in two ways. One if you set an end date, the system will automatically remove the slide from the site after the set time. Two if you manually remove the slide. To manually remove a slide, first access the slide manager (Refer to the section above titled “Accessing the Slide Manager”). Then under the active slides section, look for the slide that you would like to remove and click the red “Deactivate” button (see number 2 in the figure below). If all goes well you will see “Slide Deactivated...” at the top of your screen.
