09/06/2013 at 10:00AM - Concord’s Blackboard Learning Management System is currently out of service. We regret the inconvenience this is causing. We are confident there has been no loss of information stored in Blackboard and the information will be available when services are restored. 9/17/2012 at 6:25PN - Telephone service on the Athens campus has been restored. Please report any technology problems to the Technology Services Help Desk at cuhelpdesk@concord.edu or (304) 384-5291.

9/17/2012 at 4:30PM - Telephone service on the Athens campus went out of service sometime before 8am today. Frontier Communications technicians are still working to resolve the problem. Some phones are working for on-campus calls and some phones may work calling/receiving calls off-campus.

Cellular services are working normally. The emergency telephones are also working; they can be identified by the flashing blue light and will provide the user with a direct link to Public Safety at the press of a button. In the event of a police or medical emergency dial 911 from a cellular phone or 9911 if you have a working land line available, or use one of the emergency phones.

If you have phone service available and need classroom or other technical support the Help Desk phone at (304) 384-5291 is working.

An update message will be sent when services are restored or by 8am tomorrow morning.

9/16/2012 at 8:15PM - Concord’s Blackboard Learning Management System is in service. We regret the inconvenience the outage has caused.

The Help Desk is now closed and will reopen for normal business hours tomorrow morning. Please report any problems by contacting the Help Desk at cuhelpdesk@concord.edu or calling (304) 384-5291 anytime to leave a message. The normal staffing hours for the Help Desk during the fall semester is Monday through Thursday 7:30am to 9:30pm and Fridays 7:30am to 4:00pm.

9/16/2012 at 1:00PM - Blackboard is currently unavailable due to what appears to be a database error. An update message will be sent when services are restored.

[SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE] Internet Native Banner on 09/14/2012 beginning at 7PM.

In order to meet federal student financial aid processing requirements we need to apply an emergency update to the Banner Financial Aid module. We plan to do this tonight at 7pm.

MyCU, Banner Self-Service, and CourseWeb will NOT be affected. The only affected services will be those that require the Banner Forms Server and we believe the impact is minimal by doing it tonight. Systems should be returned to normal later in the evening and I’ll send a followup message at that time.

[UNSCHEDULED MAINTENANCE] www.concord.edu Web Server on 08/20/2012

The web server experienced downtime between approximately 2:30PM and 3:30PM.  The downtime was due to a known bug in the server's software and caused failure of concord.edu websites to load.  The software was patched during this period to prevent future service interruptions.

[UNSCHEDULED MAINTENANCE] File Service (CATFS) on 08/16/2012

A hardware error on our file server (CATFS) caused intermittent access to files before 8:30AM.  IT Services are monitoring the server and future scheduled downtime will be needed to replace bad components.

[SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE] Banner System on 08/11/2012

Beginning at 9:00am on Saturday, August 11th, the Office of Technology Services will be briefly shutting down Banner and myCU in preparation for the fall semester. We expect the outage to last no more than one hour and systems should be returned to normal by 10:00am. E-mail and Blackboard will not be affected.

Technology Services has consulted with the dean’s office, business office, student affairs, enrollment management, alumni and development, and select members of the student and faculty community to ensure this outage is scheduled at a time when our customers will be least impacted. The Concord University Web Server experienced issues that may have resulted in slow page downloads or 404 errors.  The issue was caused by a process that stopped responding due to a known bug.
