ATHENS, W.Va. – Concord University is calling on all alumni and friends to join in the 2020 Day of Giving and help raise $50,000 in 24 hours. This special fundraising campaign will run from Thursday, Sept. 24 at 11 a.m. until Friday, Sept. 25 at 11 a.m.
Contributions made during Day of Giving will benefit the Concord University Annual Fund which supports scholarships, campus improvements and other University related projects. The CU Annual Fund is one of the most important funds for Concord.
“Concord University’s 2019 Day of Giving was a huge success thanks to the generosity of the CU family. With a goal of $24,000 in 24 hours, the Mountain Lion family pulled together exceeding our goal and raising over $41,000,” states Blake Farmer, Manager of University Advancement.
“This year we’ve raised the bar, but anticipate another successful event by reaching our goal of $50,000 in 24 hours,” he said. “Whether you’re an alum or a friend of the University, we hope that you will support this fundraising effort as we continue to support our students and provide opportunities during their time at Concord.”
“Any gift from $5 to $5,000-plus is appreciated and will help make a lasting impact on ‘The Campus Beautiful’ and our students. As a special incentive, one alum has pledged to match the first $5,000 raised,” he said.
