ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University Theatre Department is proud to announce that a member of the Theatre faculty will perform in a major motion picture. Dr. Amy Stoch, who teaches theatre on-line for Concord, lives in Hollywood, CA and is pursuing a career as a full-time actor. In 1989, she was featured in the science-fiction comedy, Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure. Stoch was recently signed to reprise her original role of Missy for the reunion film, Bill and Ted Face the Music.
The original 1989 film is about two metalhead slackers who travel through time in order to assemble a menagerie of historical figures for their high school history presentation. A sequel followed in 1991, Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey. Stoch appeared in both of those films as Missy, the young, attractive step-mother.
Stoch will be joined in the upcoming film by veterans of the first two films. Keanu Reeves will again portray Ted Logan and Alex Winter will reprise his role as Bill S. Preston, Esq. Other cast members include Scott Mescudi – best known by his stage name Kid Cudi – William Sadler, Samara Weaving, Brigette Lundy-Paine and Hal Landon Jr. SNL star, Beck Bennett is set to join the cast.
Dean Parisot (“Galaxy Quest”) will direct from a script by original creators Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon. Scott Kroopf (“Limitless”) will produce with Alex Lebovici and Steve Ponce of Hammerstone Studios, with Steven Soderbergh executive producing alongside R. Scott Reid, Scott Fischer, John Ryan Jr., and John Santilli.
Stoch has had an extensive film career. She was a regular cast member of Dallas and Days of Our Lives and appeared in all four made for TV Gunsmoke movies as Matt Dillon’s daughter, to name a few of her credits. Currently, she is featured in the web series, Mr. Student Body President. In August, her original play, A Conversation with Mary, was chosen from 400 entries to be produced by the Road Theatre Company’s Summer Playwriting Festival.
Bill and Ted Face the Music has been filming in New Orleans, and will be released in the U.S. through United Artists on Aug. 21, 2020.
