BiographyI serve as the Director of Health Services, Director of EDPD, & Distinguished Professor of Health Sciences. I hold a BS in Health and Physical Education from Virginia Tech, an MA in Health Education and Promotion (research emphasis) from East Carolina University, and a PhD in Health Behavior from Virginia Tech. For the past twenty years, I have worked in higher education. Previously, I was employed as a community health specialists (specializing in adolescent pregnancy prevention programming) and served as a public school educator. I have published on the relationship between spirituality, religion, death, and risk taking behaviors in college underclassmen. I have received over one and a half million dollars in grants and contracts. I have also been an invited speaker at over ninety state, regional, national, and international meetings. Personally: I am a married with four children (ages 20, 19, 16, & 15). I enjoy travel, outdoor activities and sports card investing.
