Conchords to Perform at Tamarack, Sunday, January 30

Athens, W.Va. - The ConChords of Concord University will present a concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 30, at Tamarack in Beckley.

The ConChords is a select vocal ensemble of 24 Concord University students of various majors. The group performs regularly both on and off campus. In November, the group traveled to Nashville, Tennessee, for a series of performances at Belmont University. In January, they will perform as part of the West Virginia Collegiate Honor Choir at the West Virginia American Choral Directors Association conference in Charleston.

The ConChords perform a variety of chamber music repertoire, spanning from the Renaissance to the present. The group is under the direction of Dr. Christopher Ryder, assistant professor of music and director of choral activities at Concord University.
