CU Business Prof WVBEC Teacher of the Year

Athens, W.Va. - The West Virginia Business Education Collegiate Teacher of the Year for 2007 is Concord University Associate Professor of Business, Dr. Susan Robinett. This prestigious honor was announced at the fall conference of the West Virginia Business Education Association, the state affiliated organization of business educators under the National Association of Business Education. The annual fall conference was held November 5 and 6 at the Stonewall Resort in Roanoke, W.Va.

Dr. Robinett received the award after being nominated by a colleague. She has served at Concord University for 13 years. In addition to her work in instructing four courses each semester in the business division, Dr. Robinett has served as a divisional representative to the University’s Faculty Senate and various faculty committees; serves as an advisor to the business honorary society, Phi Beta Lambda; and mentors adjunct faculty members.

“I was very honored to receive the award as there are many outstanding and dedicated business education collegiate teachers throughout the state of West Virginia,” said Dr. Robinett.

Dr. Kendra Boggess, division chair for business, said, “Dr. Robinett has made considerable contributions to business education in the state during her years of teaching. She has provided challenging courses in the business education curriculum that have prepared many of the current business teachers in the state.

“She currently serves the West Virginia Business Education Association as treasurer, working in the planning, preparation, and administration of state teacher conferences. She is a credit to her profession and her willingness to serve cheerfully and capably is very much appreciated.”
