CONCORD STUDENT HOSTING FIRST MS. CU SORORITY PAGEANT
ATHENS, W.Va. – Concord University student Corey Lantz is hosting the first-ever Ms. CU Sorority Pageant. The Ms. CU Sorority Pageant will be held on Dec. 1, 2014 from 8 p.m. – 10 p.m. in the Alexander Fine Arts Center’s Main Auditorium. The Fine Arts Center is located on Concord University’s main campus at 1000 Vermillion St. in Athens, W.Va.
Corey Lantz made the first Ms. CU Sorority Pageant as “an event to bring all the Greek organizations together.” The Ms. CU Sorority Pageant hopes to challenge the Concord University sorority participants. The sorority participants will be tested through the seven following challenges: Baked Goods, Best Letters, Best Fundraising Idea, Best Pin/Badge Attire, Talent, Formal Wear, and Interview. After these seven rounds a panel of judges with the help of the audience will decide and crown the first Ms. CU Sorority Pageant winner.
Lantz hopes that the event empowers women and shows, “each girl that they all are valuable to Concord University not only as women but also because they are also beautiful, powerful, smart and driven.” Furthermore, Lantz wanted to make a difference in the community; therefore, half of the proceeds from the event will be donated towards the national philanthropy of the winner’s sorority.
General Admission for the event is $5 per person. This event is open to Concord University faculty, students and staff as well as the general public. For more information on the event email Corey Lantz at email@example.com.
