A native of Princeton, West Virginia, Crystal Barbour (MSN, RN, CRRN) joined Concord University in 2022 as an Assistant Professor of Nursing. Before that, she began her nursing career as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 2012 at Mercer County Technical Education Center. She became a Registered Nurse in 2018 and later obtained a Master’s degree in Nursing Administration from Liberty University in 2022. Her nursing career has focused mainly on the adult and geriatric population, specializing in rehabilitation nursing. She is currently studying at Walden University to obtain a Doctorate of Nursing Practice in Executive Leadership. She has also served her community as a camp nurse for Camp Mariposa, a camp for youth affected by substance abuse disorder in this region. Crystal has worked in multiple positions, from bedside staff nurse to Chief Nursing Officer at a local hospital while obtaining certification in rehabilitation nursing. She continues to work as a staff nurse keeping current on nursing trends and quality initiatives. Crystal is passionate about quality patient care in addition to adequate nurse-to-patient ratios. She is a nursing staff advocate addressing current issues at the state and national levels
